How To Make a Turbo Charger Inside a Car Engine Last Longer

Posted on 03:33 by Unknown

If you want the turbo charger inside your car's engine to last longer because you don't want to spend loads of money on repairing or replacing it, there are ways to do that. A brand new turbo charger can cost more than £500, which is without the fitting cost. So if i were you i would to what i can to increase the lifespan of the turbo.

1)The first 30 seconds when you start the car engine when it is cold, you can cause damage to the turbo charger. So you need to make sure that the turbo charger is lubricated with the required amount of oil around the bearings found inside the turbo charger. To make sure that happens, when you start your car up, leave the engine running for at least 30 seconds. Also reduce the amount of boost the turbo charger produces when you start to drive your car, this can be done by having a boost control to tweak down the boost pressure. Lowering the boost pressure enhances the oil pressure at the beginning of driving your car; this will make sure the bearings get lubricated and make the engine run sweet.

2)When you have finished driving your car and you switch off the engine immediately, the turbo will be at a hot temperature, so don’t make it go hungry for oil and water. To prevent this from happening to it, when you park your car up, leave the engine running for 4 minutes before you turn it off. If you do this you will make the water and oil reach to the turbo charger more effectively because they will be pumped round the blowers, as the turbo reaches a cool temperature.

3)Make sure you use proper oil for your car engine, the turbo gets really hot after hard work, if you pop the hood you can see it glowing bright orange. So always use quality oil, the two that I will recommend you to use is either semi-synthetic or fully synthetic, the choice is up to you. Also make sure that the oil is changed on a regular basis, at least every 6000 miles your car does. If it is not changed, the oil will be dirty and that dirt can get in contact with the bearing inside the turbo charger. So make sure you regularly top the engine up with fresh quality oil, including an oil filter change.

4)Make sure the remap on the ecu has correct fuel and ignition timings when you are increasing the boost of the turbo charger to gain more power. Wrong times can cause too much air to be force into the motor; this can cause the air and fuel to mix not mix correctly. This can cause damage to the turbo charger and the pistons, so get your car on a dyno, so you can make 100% they are correct. From the dyno run print out, you can find out if the mixture of air and fuel needs to be adjusted.

5)Make sure you have a dump/blow valve fitted with the turbo charger because this prevents the turbo compressor wheel to stall, when you change into different gears. A dump/blow valve is fitted so it releases excess pressure that is produced in the turbo pipe, this will also help towards increase the life span of the turbo charger.

How To Connect a PS3 Console To The Internet Wirelessly

Posted on 23:39 by Unknown

If you have a ps3 console you may want to connect it to the internet to play games online or download content of the PSN store. In order for you to do that, you will need to connect your console to the internet, either by using a ethernet wired connection, a usb modem broadband dongle or a wireless connection using your wireless router and Wi-Fi on the ps3. If you are going to choose Wi-Fi because you are going to move your ps3 console around your house, then i have provided the instructions to help your ps3 get connected to the internet wirelessly.

1)Make sure your wireless router has a active internet connection and make sure it is turned on.

2)Power on your ps3 console and let the XMB menu load up on the television screen.

3)Once it has loaded up, go to 'Settings' then select 'Network' then select 'Internet Connection Settings' and press the 'X' button on the PlayStation controller.

4)Then choose the connection setting method called 'Easy', this is by highlighting it and pressing the 'X' button on the PlayStation controller.

4)It will then ask you to choose the type of connection, the connection that you want to select is called 'Wireless', not 'Wired'.

5)Then it will ask you to search for any wireless access points, let the ps3 search for your wireless router. Once it has found its name, select it and it will connect to the wireless router and obtain the isp address from your provider automatically.

6)Your wireless router and ps3 console should be hooked up with each other and your ps3 should have a working internet connection, the ps3 will inform you when the connection is made successfully.

How Long Does It Take To Charge a Flat Car Battery

Posted on 07:03 by Unknown
If your car fails to start up this morning, it is likely the car battery is flat because something that takes electrical power was left on. To charge up the flat car battery, you will require a car battery charger, this charges up any flat car battery. They come in a selection of 6, 4 and 10 amps, the more the amps are, the more quicker it will charge a dead car battery. Many people are always concerned how long does it take to charge a flat car battery, well the amount of time depends on how flat the battery actually is and how many amps the charger is. If the battery has no power at all remaining inside it, then it might take more than 8 hours, but most people always recommend charging it for a maximum of 8 hours, no more. If you leave the car battery for more than 8 hours, the car battery can get damaged because it will be overcharging itself. Most good build car battery chargers have a indication meter, so you can identify when the it has fully charged, which is the best way to find out when to unplug it. Frequently check the indication meter on the car battery charger; this is to keep track of the charging progress.

How To Fix a Xbox 360 USB Port Thats Not Working

Posted on 02:03 by Unknown

If you are plugging something like an usb flash drive into the usb ports found on the front of the Xbox 360 console and it is not working, try plugging it into your computer or laptop. If the usb flash drive works on your computer or laptop and it doesn’t work on the Xbox 360 console, sometimes the usb port can be damaged, so insert it into the other usb port found on the rear of the console. If that doesn’t work, then I suggest you update the firmware on the Xbox 360 console, as the recent update included compatibility with an usb flash drive, if you have the old firmware on your Xbox 360, the usb flash drive will not work. If updating doesn’t work, then the flash drive is not compatible with the Xbox 360 console. So I advise you to get the official usb flash drive that Microsoft have created specifically for the Xbox 360 console, as that is guaranteed to work.
If you are experiencing problems with connecting a wired controller or HD DVD drive to the usb ports on the Xbox 360 console, then make sure the usb plug is firmly connected into the usb port. Loose connections are known to cause usb problems. If the connections look good, then the metal contacts inside the usb port can become dirty and dusty, if this happens it will reduce the conductivity of the metal contacts, making the usb port not function as it should. So get a can of compressed air, you can buy it from all computer shops and give the all of the usb ports on the console a good spray. This will blow out all of the dust and dirt that is on the metal contacts, hopefully this should solve the problem.
Once you have cleaned all of them out, insert your usb device you were having problems with, if it works then the dust on the metal contacts were the cause to this problem.  If it doesn’t work again, then try a different usb port, as the one that you are using for your usb device can be damaged. If it still doesn’t work, then there is something wrong with the all of the usb port, so this is a hardware problem. Remove the usb device from the usb port and Look inside all the usb ports carefully, look for any metal contacts that are bent and are out of shape. If seen, then turn off your Xbox 360 console, get a flat head screwdriver and straighten them out.

How To Fix a Xbox 360 Remote Control Thats Not Working

Posted on 02:40 by Unknown

If you have an Xbox 360 universal media remote control to control the Xbox 360 without having to use the Xbox 360 game pad controller, it should work. However sometimes the remote control might not work because the batteries inside it a dead. So get a battery tester, remove the batteries the remote control and test to see if they are dead. If you don’t have a battery tester, you can test the batteries on a clock or mp3 player, anything that takes two AA batteries. If the batteries work in other batteries powered items, it shows the batteries are good and are not the cause to the problem. If you’re using a battery tester, the battery tester will have a meter that will tell you if it is dead or good. If the batteries are dead, replace them and problem solved.

Also make sure that the remote control is configured with the Xbox 360 console. Power on your console and let the dashboard interface load up. Once loaded, using a controller select ‘system settings’ then ‘console setting ‘and then make sure it set as ‘remote control’. Sometimes the remote control is not automatically configured with your console out of the box.

However, if the batteries are fine and the control is configured with your console, then make sure the IR sensor that is on the console is not blocked by anything. If it is, it can’t receive IR signal from the remote control, so it will not work. Also make when you are using the remote control, you point it towards the direction of the Xbox 360 IR sensor.

How To Fix a Broken PSP Wlan Switch Thats Not Working

Posted on 02:34 by Unknown

If the wlan switch is not turning on the Wi-Fi on the psp console, when switched in the on position, there is a problem. Most of the time the wlan switch will not work because there is dust inside the switch and connector. So the first thing you should try is to clean it, before replacing it.

To clean the wlan switch, you will need to dissemble your psp console; this will void the warranty on your psp. The tools that are required to open up the console are: a small sized Philips screwdriver, a can of compressed air and a small pair of pointy tweezers.

Once you have the tools, you are ready to take your psp apart  and repair the broken switch, I have provided instructions below:

1)Remove both the memory stick and umd disc from the console.

2)The remove the battery lid and then the pack, so you can locate the four screws that hold the front faceplate, found behind the battery pack. Once you have found them, using your screwdriver, unscrew all four screws.

3)Once unscrewed, place them somewhere that they can’t go lost. Then locate the other two screws on the right side of the back of the psp console. Once found, unscrew them all using your screwdriver.

4)Using your hands, gradually remove the faceplate, once it has been removed, you will see the wlan switch exposed.

5)Unscrew the screw that is holding down the screen plate, using your screwdriver. You have to remove the screen plate because the wlan switch connector is located underneath the screen plate.

6)Now you will see a connector from the wlan switch that is connected into the motherboard, what you need to do is pull the connector in the upwards direction,to remove it.

7)Once removed, using a can of compressed air, spray it on the connecter on the motherboard and also spray on the wlan switch. Once you have cleaned it out, replace the screen plate and insert the battery pack into your psp, then switch on the wlan switch, by flicking it on the turned on position and power on the console. Do a test like connect your psp console to your wireless router, using the internet browser. If it works replace the faceplate and insert all the screws back into the screw holes and using a screwdriver screw tight. Then replace the battery lid.

If you have tested the wlan switch and it is still not working, it is broken, so order a replacement switch, remove the old switch and fit the new one.

Can Headphones Damage Your Ears Hearing & Make You Deaf?

Posted on 05:18 by Unknown

Can headphones damage your ears Hearing and Make You Deaf?

Speakers that are played at high volume are likely to reduce the chances of you losing your hearing or becoming deaf because the sound waves from it don’t directly go into your ear canals, if compared to headphones. However, headphones are a little different because the speakers inside them are really close to your ear and all the sound goes to the hairs inside your ear, it doesn’t escape out. This means that you are increasing the chances of being deaf if playing loud music on headphones and it is the same with earphones, as the sound is 100% going into your ears.

Inside a headphone there are small speakers that are in each side, when you wear the headphone on your head, the speakers are really close to your ears. When you play music using the headphones as sound, the speakers will produce lots of vibration, as all of the sound will travels through your ear canals. The sound from the headphones speakers will then travel to the tinny hairs inside your ears. If the music is turned up really loud, these hairs will be vibrating more, if compare to music at a low volume level. If you keep consistently playing loud volume levels using your headphones or earphones, these hairs will eventually become thinner and weaker, this will cause hearing loss, or they could even break which can make you deaf. If you ears start to hurt, then please turn down the volume because this is a sign of the hairs getting hurt.

So yes it is true that headphones or earphones can cause your ears to having hearing loss, or even can cause you to become deaf. You might be thinking to yourself that that is not true because you have been listening to loud music using headphones or earphones for a long time and your hearing is not damaged. Well let me tell you will not notice that your are losing you hearing straight away, you will notice when you get older and you will have them hearing aids in your ears. So my advice is to keep the volume low, take regular breaks and your hearing should be fine.
