No OTG Detected

  • A "?" here means that OTG Troubleshooter does not support OTG cable detection for this device.  Supported devices include Nexus 7 (All models) and Nexus 10.
  • An "X" means that no OTG device is detected.

Solutions:

  1. Get an OTG cable.  Charge/data cables with USB couplers generally will not work!
  2. Connect the OTG cable.  If there is a "?", make sure the OTG has a flash/pen drive or card reader attached.
  3. Try another OTG cable.  There are many OTG cables of questionable quality out there.  Some that work in one device will not work in another.
  4. Power Off and Restart the device.
    1. Press and hold the Power button until you see "Power Off"
    2. Release the Power button.
    3. Tap Ok
    4. After shutdown, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds.
    5. Restart OTG Troubleshooter

Alternate Test:

Another simple way to verify a cable is good/compatible is to connect a USB mouse or keyboard to the OTG.  A mouse pointer will show up if connecting a mouse.  You should be able to type on the keyboard in apps like email.
