How To Remove & Get Tippex Out Of Your Carpet In No Time

Posted on 08:57 by Unknown

Tippex is a correction fluid product that is used to remove spelling errors on paper, the chemicals inside the actual liquid inside that little bottle are very very strong, strong enough to ruin your carpet, if it gets accidentally split onto it. But once it has split onto the carpet, it's done and most of you out there are probably thinking it is irreversible. You have probably attempted to remove it by using water on a cloth and scrubbing it hard into the fibers in the carpet were it is covered with tippex, but that won't work. You will need to use something a little stronger, i would recommend you to use white spirit, it is used usually to remove paint off things and it works magic for removing tippex off things.

Instructions:

1) Locate the area where the tippex has spit onto the carpet, examine the carpet fibers to see which ones are covered in tippex.

2) Once you are aware on where the tippex has spit onto the carpet, get a old cleaning cloth with rough fibers on it. If you don't have a cloth to spare, you can use an towel, as it's just as good for scrubbing on the carpet because it has a rough texture.

3) Remove the cap from the white spirit bottle and pour a sensible amount of the liquid onto the towel and replace the cap, so it doesn't spill onto other things, if it gets knocked down by accident, as it is really strong and can destroy your furniture, which will remove color off things permanently. Also remember not to pour too much onto the towel, as over doing it can remove the color off your carpet, so you got to be really careful on the quantity you use.

4)Using the towel, where you have poured the white spirit on, scrub it really hard onto the area where there is tippex on the carpet. Keep checking if it is coming off because over scrubbing can remove color from your carpet and make the situation even worse that it is.
