How to Access PSP Vita Secrete Recovery Mode, No Custom Firmware Needed

Posted on 08:02 by Unknown

Hackers created a easily accessible recovery menu for hacked custom firmware for the original psp models, as the official firmware that were released never had that feature. This is because it allowed to many things that it can't do with Sony's limited features and functions in their official firmware, such as playing backups off the memory stick, using the recover menu to power off the psp, without using the flick switch on the right side and allow you to increase the CPU speed. So Sony found out that the recovery menu is a top priority and decided to add the recovery mode officially into their firmware for the psp vita.

Instructions:

1) Power off the psp vita console, this is by holding down the power button for 10 seconds and release.

2) Hold down the 'R' button, the 'Power button' and the 'PS' button, after each other for a couple of seconds.

3) The psp vita will now display a recovery mode and a list of options will be available on screen.

(You can only use the buttons to select the options in the menu, so you can't touch the screen to select them.)

1) Restart the system- This will allow the psp vita to reboot itself.

2) Rebuild database- This will allow the psp vita to restore its files that are damaged from corruption.

3) Format the memory card- This will allow you to wipe everything off your memory card that is inserted into the console.

4) Restore psp vita- This will allow you to reset the psp vita to factory settings.

5) System update- This will allow you to update the firmware version on your psp, this is a handy feature if your psp fail's to power on, you can still update it and fix the problem, if its firmware related.
