How To Make PSN Games Download Faster On a Slow PS3 Console

Posted on 05:18 by Unknown

Sony has created the PSN network that allows you to play online with other players, download content to use with your games, as well as downloading full games and demos. The advantage you gain from downloading games directly onto your PS3 console is that you don't have to go out and purchase the actual game from a retail store, saving you time and hassle. The content that you have downloaded will only work on your PSN account, so you can't swap games with your friends so easily. You may consider yourself to download games onto your PS3 because of the convenience, but the process of downloading it can be very time consuming for many individuals like yourself. This can cause lots of frustration because you have to wait days for the download to be finished, which can cause your excitement to play the game disappear, due to waiting so long. I have experience this and i have come up with many ways that i want to share that will help you overcome slow downloads on your PlayStation 3 console.

3 ways to make games download faster on a PS3 console

1) Switch from using WiFi to a wired Ethernet connection. Using a WiFi router to connect your PlayStation 3 console wirelessly onto the internet makes life easier because no wires are involved to create connectivity. But with creating a wired connection, using a Ethernet cable to connect the PS3 to the internet router will provide a much faster download speed and reduce lag instantly.

2) Upgrade your actual internet connection. The type of internet connection matters, using a USB dongle modem or a telephone line will certainly be slower than a cable modem. Also the mbps speed your internet service provider will impact the download speed. The faster the speed is, usually you will have to pay more money on a monthly basis, but your PS3 will benefit from it when it comes to downloading PSN Content.

3) Stop other downloads running at the same time. Running multiple downloads at the same time takes bandwidth up, therefore this impacts the speed of the content downloading, as its increases the duration for them to be completed. So stop all the other downloads running at the same time and download one thing at a time because it will be the most suitable method to gain faster download speeds.
