How To Remove Scratches From My PSP LCD Screen Using Displex Polish

Posted on 10:39 by Unknown

The PSP console's front faceplate covers the main internal LCD screen of the portable gaming device. This protects the main screen from getting damaged or scratched during use. Using your PSP on a daily basis, will cause the outer screen to become scratched and they will be clearly visible in direct sunlight. Most gamers who are concerned about this issue, will apply a plastic peelable screen protector beforehand onto the outer screen to prevent it getting permanently scratched. If you are bothered about the scratches seen on your PSP screen, you can polish them out using 'Displex' polish. It contains special cleaning ingredients that when polished in, it will buff out light surface scratches out. Not only can it be used for your PSP screen, it can also be used on mobile phones and tablets. Though bear in mind that if the scratches are really deep that you can feel them grooved in the screen, your best bet is to replace the front faceplate with a brand new one because they will not fade out using the polish method. It will be a waste of money and time.

1) The polish that you are going to use to buff out the scratches off the screen will come in a small red color tube. So remove the protective cap from the top of it, then give the tube a squeeze and apply lots of polish onto a lint free soft cloth. This is the best type of cloth for this restoration because it is dust free and won't cause more scratches to appear on the screen. Don't use a regular tissue paper from the box because that will cause more scratches to appear.

2) Using the side the polish is applied onto the cloth, place it on the outer screen, found on the front faceplate and rub it in rapidly in circular motions continuously for a minimum of 5 minutes. Don't give up polishing within a few minutes because it simply won't work that great. During this process, the polish will be rubbed into the screen's plastic and will eventually be buffed out.

3) Once you have removed the scratches completely and they are no longer visible, replace the plastic cap onto the Displex polish tube to prevent it drying out. This is ideal to do because you can use it next time when you want to remove scratches off the PSP screen or other devices such as your mobile phone or tablet.

How To Clean a Car Speaker Box Carpet Thats Used For Covering

Posted on 06:50 by Unknown

Subwoofers are used in car audio to enhance bass response you hear in your music. A subwoofer is placed into an enclosure box, to enhance the bass to the way you want it to sound. Ported boxes are tuned to a specific frequency and are usually used to gain more SPL. Sealed boxes have no tuning, but make bass sound punchy and accurate, which is why it provides far better sound quality over ported. Subwoofer enclosures are usually covered in speaker cloth, the same type of carpet material that is used for car interior. This makes the subwoofer enclosure blend in with the rest of the car once installed into the trunk, to give it a stealthy look. If your subwoofer box is been is storage for quite a while, you might want to clean it to make it look brand new once again!

1) The speaker cloth material that is used to cover up the MDF wood of the box is similar to household carpet. So the most appropriate cleaning tool for this job will be a regular household vacuum cleaner. So obtain your vacuum cleaner, plug into a available wall socket and switch it on.

2) Attach the plastic nozzle that is shaped like a pointy pipe. This is the best attachment to use because it allows you to cover different areas of the box very easily. Also ensure that power setting on your vacuum cleaner is set to the lowest level because too much suction can cause the carpet to rip of the box.

3) Switch on your vacuum cleaner and begin to clean one side of the subwoofer box. Try to avoid cleaning around the subwoofer because if you make a mistake and you aim for the cone or rubber surround, you will suck it up and permanently damage it.

4) Once you have done one side, stop hoovering and check your progress that you have made. If you have successfully removed all the dust and dirt, move onto the next side of the box and repeat the cleaning process.

How To Reset & Remove Nokia 6230i Secuirty Code

Posted on 06:07 by Unknown

The Nokia 6230i has a feature that allows you to enhance phone security, by allowing you to setup up a password code on your mobile phone.  Once activated, it will allow only the authorized user that has the correct security code to have access to the phones content. However, if you have bought a Nokia 6230i with a password already enabled on it or you have accidentally forgotten what it is, you can't access the phones content. But thankfully there is a easy way to remove it completely for free. There is one particular method that involves you to insert a special secret code into the keypad that resets the current security code to 12345. This secrete code method only works on particular firmware versions, so if you find it doesn't work, you will need to reflash the mobile phone.

1) Switch on your Nokia 6230i by holding down the 'Power Button' found at the top.

2) Once you see the Nokia logo appear on screen, enter the following code into the numerical keypad '#784598744'.

3) If entered correctly, the mobile phone screen will flash 3 times and will then restart. Now the phone will be reset to factory default settings and the password will be permanently deactivated. Next time you want to add a security code, the default code will be set to 12345.

How To Replace Fiio E11 Portable Headphone Amplifier Battery

Posted on 02:49 by Unknown

The fiio e11 is a brilliant portable headphone amplifier that provides more power to your headphones to drive them to their full potential without reaching high distortion levels. It also has three levels of bass boost you can select to increase the amount of subwoofer bass in your tracks. The fiio e11 operates on a small mobile phone sized battery similar to the Nokia BL-5B battery, which is 800 mAH and provides 3.7 volts. Thankfully to the clever design, this battery is easily replaceable, it is not soldered into the circuit board and no tools are required. You might want to replace the current battery in your fiio e11 portable headphone amplifier if the battery is not holding charge, or you want to increase the battery life by inserting a battery with more mAH.

1) Power off your fiio e11 amplifier by turning the volume knob all the way 'Clockwise'. You will hear a 'Click' sound and the blue power LED indicator will turn off. This is recommend to do because you can damage the internal capacitors if you remove the battery while the amp is switched on

2) Turn the fiio e11 amplifier upside-down, you will see a plastic cover that is covering the rear of the amp. This plastic cover is removable, underneath is the battery pack and the internal circuits. So remove the plastic cover, by inserting your finger nail into the gap found at the bottom and then pushing it upwards.

3) You will now see the battery pack inserted into the middle of the fiio e11 amplifier. Now that you have located it, use your finger to pry out the battery pack.

4) Now that you have removed the old battery pack, insert your new replacement battery pack into the compartment.

5) Replace the plastic cover you removed earlier on, by lining it up with the amp and pushing it down. Run your fingers all the way around the corners of the plastic cover to ensure that its locked in.

How To Format a PS1 Memory Card With a PS2 Console

Posted on 13:38 by Unknown

If you are using your PS2 console to play PS1 games, you may want to save your progress made in certain games onto a PlayStation memory card. This is so next time when you want to continue playing the same game, you can resume to the progress you made earlier on. To create save data using PS1 games, a PS1 memory card is required. This is because PS1 games have been developed to specifically only work with PS1 1 MB memory cards. A PS2 8 MB memory card will not work because it is only capability with PS2 games. If you are having trouble getting your trusty old PS1 memory card to work and it keeps giving copying errors, or saying corrupted data, you will need to format. What formatting does is wipes all the current save blocks from its memory capacity and gives it a fresh start.

1) Press the 'Eject' button on your PS2 console and remove the game disc. This will prevent the game from loading, which will allow the browser screen to come up. Ensure that your PS1 memory card that you want to reformat is inserted into a available memory card slot. Then press the 'Power/Reset' button to switch on the console.

2) On your television you will see two options on screen, 'Browser' and 'System Configuration'. The option that you want to select is 'Browser', so press 'X' on the dualshock 2 controller to enter into it.

3) You will see a small 'PS1 Memory Card Icon' appear onscreen, press the 'X' button on the dualshock 2 controller to enter into it. Find the 'Format' option from the list and press 'X' to proceed. When the format is completed, you will be notified onscreen.

How To Change Nokia 6300 Front Cover / Housing / Fascia

Posted on 02:47 by Unknown

Overtime, the condition of your Nokia 6300 will become worn out and scratched, due to constant use on a daily basis. This can make the front fascia of the mobile phone look unappealing. You can refurbish your own Nokia 6300 to look brand new once again, by changing the front cover. They come in five different colors silver, black, white, gold or red. When you purchase a replacement front cover, make sure that is genuine OEM made from Nokia. Don't get cheap copies because the build quality on them is really poor, the screen lens cracks easily and the color will fade off them very quickly.

1) Locating the two torx screws. Turn the phone upside down and remove the battery lid, by pushing it downwards. Don't remove the battery or the sim card that is inserted into it because it is not necessary. You will see two small torx screws in each corner at the bottom of the mobile phone. These screws are holding the front housing in place, what you need to do is now remove them.

2) Removing the two torx screws. You will require a torx '6' screwdriver to remove both screws. Don't try removing them will are regular Philips head screwdriver because you will damage the shape of the screws. Using your torx '6' screwdriver, remove both torx screws from the mobile phone. When you have removed the screws, place them into a small container so they don't get misplaced.

3) Removing the old front cover. Turn the phone the other way round and use your finger nail and run it all way around the joints of the cover. This will tear the glue that is holding it firmly down. Then grip the cover from the top and lift it upwards to remove it.

4) Fitting the new front cover. Remove the screen protector film from your new Nokia 6300 cover and remove the keypad from the old cover. Insert the keypad into the new cover and line up the front cover correctly onto the mobile phone and press it down. Turn the phone upside down, replace the two torx screws you removed earlier on and reattach the battery cover.

How To Make Gran Turismo 5 Load Faster / Reduce Long & Slow Loading Times

Posted on 08:41 by Unknown

Gran Turismo 5 is currently the best racing simulator out there for the PlayStation 3 platform, i cant wait for Gran Turismo 6! It has incredible detailed graphics and also has cockpit view, so you can real feel that realistic driving experience. It also supports high end steering wheels like the Logitech G25 & G27, which comes with a clutch pedal, shifter paddles and a functional gear shifter, that the Xbox 360 doesn't have. It also has over 1000 cars to choose from to race on the tracks, in fact more than Forza Motorsport can put together.

Thanks to all the effort PolyPhony Digital have put into developing this racing game, the PS3 blueray game disc contains lots of different files of tracks and cars. This creates slow and boring loading times between loading races, which can become a frustrating experience for use gamers. The reason why the loading times is really slow for that particular game is because the laser inside the disc drive has to keep accessing the disc to keep up with constant system demands. This is a much slower process to retrieving data for a game, if compared to accessing data stored on an internal hard drive. Although PolyPhony Digital can't do much by releasing a game update to speed things up, i have some alternative solutions that will really help with reducing long loading times.

1) Install the game directly onto the hard drive thats inside your PS3 console. This will allow Gran Tursimo 5 tracks & cars data to be stored onto the hard drive. So the PlayStation 3 will instead read that data from the HDD and will no longer use the disc all the time, making loading times faster. The game will have an option which will specifically allow you to install GT5 to the hard drive. You will require at least 6.4GB of free space and will take around 40 minutes to complete the installation. If you don't have that much free space currently available, i suggest you delete some of you unwanted files or upgrade to a larger one. After all it is worth it!

2) Upgrade the standard hard drive to a faster SSD drive. SSD stands for solid state drive, which uses chips instead of a disk to store data onto. This will result in data to be retrieved much more faster, if compared to a regular HDD. From the factory, the Sony PS3 is installed with a standard HDD drive, the technology for that is kinda old and outdated. So you can swap out your current hard drive in your PlayStation 3 console, with a SSD with the same capacity, but the only downfall would be that it will cost three times as much as a standard HDD.

How To Move & Transfer Xbox Live Profile To a USB Stick

Posted on 03:55 by Unknown

When you create an Xbox Live profile on your Xbox 360 console, it will save all of its contents onto the capacity of the attached hard drive. This is so your profile is saved onto the console, so you can continue to use it, without having to create it again. If you want to use the same gamer profile on a different Xbox 360 console, you can transfer it quite easily, without having to download it. Making this method perfect if your console is not connected onto the internet and is offline. To make this work, you will need to move the Xbox Live profile from your current Xbox 360 onto a USB memory stick. Once you have done that, you can then retrieve it on the second Xbox 360 console. Any USB memory stick will work, it doesn't have to be the official Sandisk Microsoft one, as long as it got around 100mb of free space on-board, you will have no problems.

1) Switch on your Xbox 360 console, by pressing down the circle shaped 'Power Button'. Then press the 'Dashboard' button on the controller to connect it to the console.

2) There will two 'USB' ports found on the front of the console. You will not see them because there is a 'Plastic Flap' that covers them up, to prevent dust getting into them. So 'Push' down the plastic flap and insert your 'USB Memory Stick' into any of the two USB ports. Once inserted, if your USB memory stick has a 'LED' light, it will light up to confirm that it is connected and is active.

3) Then from the Dashboard, go to 'Settings' > 'Storage' > 'All Devices' > 'Gamer Profiles'.

4) You will see all the gamer profiles that are saved onto the hard drive. Select the one that you want to move onto the USB stick. Then select the 'Move' option and select the 'USB Storage Device' option. You will see your USB memory stick name pop up onscreen, so select it and the transfer process will begin. The progress will be shown onscreen how much data has been copied onto the device.

5) Only remove it once it has full been transferred because if you pull it out half way through, you will corrupt the data. Once it has been copied over, you can safely remove the 'USB memory stick' from the console. This is by pulling it outwards from the console.

How To Delete Xbox Live Profile From a Xbox 360 Console

Posted on 02:48 by Unknown

Each different user on a Xbox 360 console has their own unique profile that contains their own gamertag, Xbox Live membership, gamerscore, avatar, downloaded content and game save data. The data that is related to the Xbox 360 account is stored onto the attached hard drive on the console. If you are selling your Xbox 360 to somebody or you no longer want your Xbox Live profile on your Xbox 360 console, you can permanently delete it from the hard drive. This is so nobody else can use it. This is still possible offline, without connecting to Xbox Live because the profile is stored onto the hard drive of your console, not on the Xbox live servers.

1) Power on your Xbox 360 console, connect the controller and press the 'Eject' button to pop out the disc tray. This is because you don't want the game to start, you want the main menu to appear on screen.

2) Now from the 'Main Menu', keep going to the right side of the different options, until you see 'Settings'.

3) Then go into 'System' > 'Storage' > 'Hard Drive' > 'Gamer Profiles'.

4) You will see now see all the current gamer profiles that are stored onto Xbox 360 consoles hard drive. Find the profile that you want to delete from the list.

5) Now select the gamer profile you want to remove, two options will be provided to you, choose the option that is most suited. Option 1 which is to 'Delete Profile Only', which will just delete the Xbox live profile and nothing else. Then there is option 2, which is to 'Delete Profile With Items', which will remove the profile, as well as all DLC content and game save data that is related to it.

How To Power a Computer Fan With a 9V Volt Square Battery

Posted on 04:48 by Unknown

Computer fans require 12 volts from a power source in order to operate inside computers. Computer fans are used in many different ways inside computers, to bring cool air into the case, extract hot air out of the case or blow cool air onto metal heat sinks to cool down hardware. Without a computer fan, hardware inside the computer will generate heat very quickly and will overheat in seconds. This will cause your PC hardware to easily get damaged during this process. If you have a spare computer fan that you don't require for a PC build, you can connect it to a 9 volt square battery for a small electrical project.

1) You will need a 9 volt battery snap connector. A battery snap, snaps onto the two metal positive and negative terminals, which are found on the top part of the battery. Using a battery snap ensures that when moving the wires about, the wire connections are secure to the battery, so they don't come off.

2) You will need a 9 volt battery. This will be the power source for your computer fan. Ensure that you purchase a brand new 9 volt battery, fresh out of the packet from a reputable manufacturer like Energizer or Duracell. This is because they are built to provide more battery life and will provide the full 9 volts to the fan. Cheap batteries are not the best alternative because they don't last as long and the voltage is really low.

3) Attach the 9 volt battery onto the battery snap. Line up the battery snap with the terminals on the battery and push it down. You can't get them mixed up because the battery snap is designed to only fit one way. Once the battery snap is fitted, you will hear a 'Click' sound.

4) Wire up the wires from the battery snap to the computer fan. The battery snap will have two color wires, a 'Red' (+) positive wire and a 'Black' (-) negative wire. The computer fan will also have two wires of the same color, so all you need to now do is match the colors up and connect them. So get a 'Wire Stripper' tool and remove the plastic coating insulation of all 4 wires. Then obtain the red wire from the battery snap and the other red wire from the computer fan a twist them together. Then obtain the black wire from the battery snap and the other black wire from the computer fan and also twist them together.

5) Tape up the connections you just made. Taping up the copper braids of the wires will prevent them touching each other and cause an electrical short in the circuit. So to prevent problems happening later on, cover them up with PVC electrical tape.

DIY How To Connect & Power a Computer Fan Using a USB Port

Posted on 04:39 by Unknown

Computer fans are used to cool down hardware that is suffering from overheating issues, to prevent damage occurring and to increase the lifespan of it. The computer fans work the same as desk fans do, as they have blades that spin that create air flow. If you have a spare computer fan lying around the house, you can make into a desk fan with a few simple modifications. Computer fans operate on a 12 volts line, which is usually provided by the motherboard or directly from the power supply unit. For the power source, you can use a spare USB port on your computer. A USB port can provide a maximum voltage of 5 volts, which is sufficient enough for your fan to power up. Not only can use this fan you make with your computer, you can also use it using a PS3 or Xbox 360 console because it also has USB ports integrated into the system. To make the fan, all you need is a USB cable of some sort which has connector and wire, as well as a few tools to create your very own desk fan.

1) Use a pair of 'Wire Strippers' to remove the plastic insulation coating from the USB wire. You will see 4 different colored small sized wires. The wires that the fan will require are the 'Red' color wire, which is the 5 volts line and the 'Black' wire for the ground. So remove the insulation of both of them wires and using a scissors, snip the other two remaining wire because you will not need them.

2) Most computer fans have three different color wires, known as a '3 Pin Connector' fan. A 'Red' wire, which is the 'Positive', a 'Black' wire, which is the 'Negative' and a 'White' color wire, which is called a 'Taco' wire, which is used to tell the motherboard the RPM speed of the fan. The only two wires you need it the red and black wires, you don't need the white color wire, so using a scissors snip it off.

3) You will need to make the connections from the fan to the USB wire. So grab both the 'Red' wire from the fan and the 'Red' color wire from the USB wire and connect them together by twisting there copper braids. Then connect the 'Black' wire from the fan onto the 'Black' wire on the USB wire. Once you have made all the connections, using some insulation tape, cover the exposed copper braids up of the wires to prevent any short circuits happening.

4) Power on your computer, so the power supply unit can provide power to the USB ports on your computer. Then insert the USB wire connector into any spare USB port on your computer, i would suggest that the front panel USB ports are more convenient. Your computer fan will now be powered up by the USB port and will be blowing cool air out!

How To Play Old GameBoy Advance Games On a Nintendo Lite Console

Posted on 01:52 by Unknown

The Nintendo DS lite console supports backwards compatibility with only old GameBoy Advance games, GameBoy Color and Original games however don't work. This means that you can still play them without having a separate GameBoy Advance SP console to play them on, which makes it very convenient for you. There are two game cards slots on the Nintendo DS lite console that are labeled, slot 1 is for DS games, which is found at the top of the console, which you probably already know about. Then there is slot 2, for GameBoy Advance games, which is found at the bottom of the console near the touchscreen. When playing GameBoy games on your Nintendo DS lite console, it will only display the game on one screen not both, also it will have no touchscreen capabilities. This is because the games only support one screen, as they were originally created for the GameBoy that had no second screen to interact with.

1) Power off your Nintendo DS lite by flicking the 'Power Switch' upwards. This is essential to do because you don't want the system memory to get corrupted while inserting a games cartridge into the console.

2) Look at the bottom side of your Nintendo DS lite console. The long rectangular thing inserted into bottom of the console is the dust cover for the GameBoy Advance games to go into. Nintendo did this to prevent dust go into the slot, when you're not using your DS to play GameBoy games. You want to remove the dust cover, there will be a 'Curvy' grove at the back of the DS. Insert your finger into it and push it downwards, this will remove the dust cover.

3) Insert the GameBoy Advance game into the slot, making sure that it is inserted in the correct way up. You can now flick the 'Power Switch' on your Nintendo DS lite console and the game will automatically start. When you have finished playing your GameBoy game, remove the cartridge by pulling it out and replace the dust cover.

How To Install a Memory Expansion Pack Into a Nintendo N64 Console

Posted on 13:42 by Unknown

Nintendo noticed that gamers that used their console to play certain games faced laggy gameplay and had to wait for ages for the games to actually load up. Also game developers needed that extra ram capacity, this is so they could store more graphics data into their games, to make certain games have better graphics. So Nintendo decided to release a N64 expansion pack, which allows you to upgrade the current 4mb system ram to 8mb, doubling up ram capacity. This resulted in smoother gameplay, faster loading times and better graphics for some games. The expansion pak is not supplied or already installed into the Nintendo 64 from the factory, it is an optional accessory extra if you want to perform the upgrade or not. If you're wondering where the expansion pack goes into, it goes into the same compartment the jumper pack goes into.

1) Flick the power switch on your Nintendo 64 to turn it off and also remove the plug from the mains wall socket. This is because you don't want the console to be powered on while performing this upgrade, as it can cause the system files to become corrupted.

2) You will see a 'Memory Expansion' cover/lid on the top of your Nintendo 64 console. Underneath the cover, there is a slot where you insert your expansion pack into. So remove the cover by pressing the 'Tab' to release it.

3) You will require a 'Jumper Pack Ejector Tool', in order to remove the current jumper pack from the console. If you don't have the tool handy, you could use the end of a spoon to do the same job. Once you have the tool available or a similar object, insert it into the rear of the jumper pack and push it downwards. This process will remove the jumper pack from its slot, so you can now go ahead and pull it out.

4) Carefully insert the new 'Expansion Pack' into the socket, making sure the label side is facing towards the front side of the control deck. You will hear a 'Click' once the expansion pack is successfully inserted into its socket and is locked in.

5) Finally obtain the 'Memory Expansion' cover you removed earlier on from the console and replace it back onto the control deck, covering up the expansion pack.

How To Fix a CB Radio That Wont Turn On / Not Getting No Power

Posted on 09:52 by Unknown

A home base power supply is required to convert the standard 240 volts from a wall socket to 12 volts to power any CB radio up. If you are using your CB radio in your car, there is no need for a separate power supply box to convert the voltages because the car battery provides the correct amount of 12 volts. If your CB radio is not getting no power from its power supply, it will not turn on. There can be many different reasons on why your CB radio is not getting any power, it could be just a simple as replacing a fuse or the power supply can become bad. To help your troubleshoot this particular problem, go through the following steps provided below to help fix your CB radio.

1) Is your CB radio getting 12 volts? Use a multimeter to check the voltage that is coming from its power source. This is vital to find out because if it's not getting 12 volts from the power source, you can tell if the power supply or the CB radio is the problem. So setup the multimeter to read in voltage mode, attach the negative probe to the negative wire and the positive probe onto the positive wire connecting into the CB radio. Switch on your power supply, the screen of the multimeter should read around 12 volts. If it's displaying 0 volts, at this point you have identified that the CB radio is not getting no power from the power source and the CB radio is not faulty.

2) Check for any bad or wrong connections. If the wires from the CB radio to the power supply are not connected properly or are short circuiting because the wires are touching each other, both can be possible causes to your CB radio getting no power. Run down the wires from the CB radio to the power supply and look out for any wires that are not taped up and touching each other. Also a CB radio has two wires that are required to be connected to a power source in order to make it function. If the wires are connected with the wrong polarity, so the positive wire is connected to negative and negative wire connected to positive, it will not power on at all. So ensure that they are connected the right way!

3) Check if the fuse is burnt out. A CB radio uses a fuse to protect itself from getting damaged during a power surge or a short circuit. The role of the fuse is to break when the current becomes too much for it to handle. Your CB radio will have its own glass fuse inside a fuse holder, which is found on the positive wire at the back of the rig. The way to identify if the fuse is blown out is by looking in the middle of the fuse, if the small wire looks burnt or has snapped, it's the problem causer and needs replacing. Make sure you use the correct glass fuse of the same amps because if the amount of amps the replacement fuse can handle is too less or too much, it won't protect your CB radio from getting damaged next time something goes wrong.

How To Fix & Replace PSP 1000 Broken Analog Stick / Joystick

Posted on 08:03 by Unknown

If the analog stick on your PSP 1000 console is sticking, it can make it extremely difficult to use it to play games because it won't move freely, as its stuck down. The reason why the joystick is sticking is because the internal mechanism, as well as the rubber contact that the stick operates on has become worn out, due to extensive use. The only way you can fix this problem is by replacing the current broken analog stick with a brand new replacement stick. Make sure you use a replacement part that is genuine made from Sony because cheap Chinese copies from Ebay are usually cheaper, but they don't last as long and break more easily. To perform this repair, it will involve you to disassemble your PSP console, so you will require a small sized Philips screwdriver and some basic knowledge on how to repair electronics. Also bear in mind that performing this repair on your PSP 1000 console will void the warranty with Sony.

1) First of all, you will need to remove the front faceplate from your PSP console to access the analog stick. So turn your PSP console upside down, so that the screen and buttons are facing downwards. Then remove the battery cover/lid and remove the battery pack that is inserted into the console. On the back of the PSP, you will see 2 screws, 2 more screws underneath where battery pack goes into and 1 last screw at the bottom of the PSP console, in the middle of the silver bit of plastic that goes around the console, next to a bar code sticker. So using a small sized 'Philips' head screwdriver, individually unscrew all 5 screws.

2) Turn the console around, grab the front faceplate of the PSP console and pull it upwards. Once removed, turn faceplate upside down, you will see the analog stick mechanism, it will have two small screws holding it onto the plastic. So get your small sized 'Philips' screwdriver and unscrew both screws.

3) The old analog stick will now pop off by itself. So get your new replacement analog stick and insert it back into the faceplate the correct way. Then replace the two screws you removed earlier on, this is to secure it down. Once you have done that, reattach the faceplate back onto the front of the PSP console.

4) Turn the console upside down again and insert all the screws removed into their screw holes. Then using your small sized 'Philips' head screwdriver, screw all 5 screws tight. Then reinsert the battery pack back into the PSP console and place the battery lid back on.

Posted on 13:30 by Unknown

Samsung has included a special feature on the E700, which allows you to add a security password to prevent other people using the phone to gain access to personal messages and multimedia content, such as music, images and videos. However, if you have added a password code accidentally or you have forgotten what it is, you are basically restricted of accessing certain content on the phone, unless you have the correct privacy password. This can be a very problematic situation, but don't worry because there is a clever & free method to completely remove the password, without actually sending it to the manufacturer to sort out.

WARNING!: Before proceeding with this operation, back up all important content that is stored onto the phones memory onto a second mobile phone via Bluetooth because it will all be deleted after completion.

1) Ensure that your Samsung E700 is switched on.

2) Enter the following code into the dialer keypad '*2767*2878#'.

How To Make PSP Games Look Better On A PSP Vita Console

Posted on 06:47 by Unknown

The Sony PSP Vita console is compatible with the first generation of PSP games, which means that you don't have to own a original PSP 1000 console to play them. Since the PSP Vita has no UMD disc drive, you can't play hard copy versions of the original PSP games that are on UMD discs. The only way you can play them is by downloading them directly from PSN and storing them onto the inserted memory card. Thanks to the amazing 5 inch HD OLED screen found on the PSP Vita, even old PSP games look great when played because it up-scales the resolution. The colors are very bright and vibrant, which makes games like Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories really shine. But you may notice that playing original PSP games on your Vita will have very jagged sharp edges to appear onscreen, which makes the games look tacky and outdated. This is why Sony has included a feature in the PSP Vita which allows you to enable 'Bilinear Filtering'. Once enabled, this feature will smooth out the jagged edges, smoothing out the graphics and make games look much better than before.

1) You will need to switch on your PSP Vita. So press down the 'Power Button', found at the top of the PSP Vita console for 3 seconds.

2) Next select a 'PSP Original' game from the menu and using your finger, tap the game to start it.

3) Once the game begins, using your finger, press the middle of the touch screen for 5 seconds. A 'Settings' menu will automatically appear onscreen.

4) You will need to enable 'Bilinear Filtering'. It is the first option from the list of the different settings being displayed and it will have a checklist box beside it. So using you finger, tap inside the checklist box to enable this feature, if enabled you will see a 'Tick' in the box.

5) Quit the 'Settings' menu by tapping the small 'Cross', found in the top left corner to resume back to the gameplay.

Posted on 04:55 by Unknown

Samsung has included a feature on the D600, which allows the owner of the handset to add a security password to prevent other people using the phone to gain access to personal messages and multimedia content, such as music, videos and images. However, if you have added a password code accidentally or you have forgotten what it is, you are basically locked out of using certain content on the phone. This can be a very problematic situation, but don't worry because there is a clever & free way to remove the password, without actually sending it to the manufacturer to deal with.

IMPORTANT: Before performing this operation, back up all content that is stored onto the phones memory onto a external micro SD memory card because it will all be deleted after completion.

1) Ensure that your Samsung D600 is powered on.

2) Slide up the slider and enter the following code into the keypad '*2767*2878#'.

How To Unlock a Samsung SGH-D500 Mobile Phone Sim Free / All Networks

Posted on 02:28 by Unknown

So what exactly does a network lock mean?

If your Samsung D500 is branded by a mobile network, they will place a sim lock on the mobile phone from the factory to prevent people using other sim cards that are from different network providers. You will also see network branding and logos in the phones menu and on the housing, especially with the 'Orange' branded version. Network providers do this is so it limits you switching to cheaper network providers, while using the same phone. Usually, if you ring up the customer service department, for a small fee, they will issue you with a unlock code to make your Samsung D500 sim free. But nobody wants to pay these days because a free unlocking method is available. So why not give it a try and see if it works for you?

Unlocking Instructions (Tested on Orange, T-mobile, 02 & Vodafone branded D500s)

1) Remove the battery from the mobile phone. This is by turning the mobile phone upside down and pressing the tab button at the top, to release the battery pack.

2) Remove the inserted sim card from the mobile phone. This is by using your thumb to push it upwards.

3) Reattach the battery pack and hold down the red color 'Telephone Key' for a few seconds to switch it on.

4) Slide the phone up, so you can access the dialer/number keypad and enter the following secret unlock code into the device '#*7337#'. Once entered, the D500 will automatically reset itself, during this process it will remove the sim card restriction and it will be fully unlocked. Now you can insert any sim card of your choice and use it with your D500 without having any issues.

How To Fix a Xbox 360 That Doesn't Show On a TV / No Display or No Video Output Problems

Posted on 03:39 by Unknown

The Xbox 360 console contains an integrated graphics video chip that is compatible with both the old style CTR SDTVs and new HDTVs. If you have hooked up your Xbox 360 console to your television and you see no display on your TV, check out the solutions provided below to help you troubleshoot this problem and overcome it.

1) Are you using the correct type of cable? There are two specific cables for two different televisions. A cable that uses composite connections, Yellow, Red, White RCA jacks, is used to connect your Xbox 360 console to a 'SDTV'. The other type of cables is called a 'HDMI' cable, which is used to display high definition resolutions to your 'HDTV'. So to begin with, ensure you are using the correct cable for your type of television because you don't want the video output to be in standard definition quality, when your TV has the ability to perform in high detention, if its a HDTV. This is because it will result in a blank picture as it produces the incorrect resolution.

2) Ensure that there are no loose connections. Connecters that are not firmly inserted into their sockets can cause bad connections, which could be a possible cause to no display on your TV. So check on the back of your TV if the Xbox 360 display out cable is firmly connected into its socket, also do the same for the other end of the cable that actually goes into the back of the Xbox 360 console.

3) Ensure that you are on the correct AV or HD mode. Sometimes what happens is that the you are on the incorrect mode on your TV that has no input signal is because nothing is connected into it. On the back of your television, you will see a small label underneath the socket you have inserted the Xbox 360 display out cable into eg. 'AV-1' or 'HDMI-1'. You want to ensure that your TV is on the same TV mode as the label shows. So lets say if the cable is connected into 'HDMI-1' socket, you want to use the remote control to find and select the 'HDMI-1' mode on your television.

4) Reset the display settings on your Xbox 360 console. Sometimes what happens is that the Xbox 360 console is setup to display the wrong type of resolution that your TV doesn't support. If that happens you will get no video output on your television. So attempt to reset the display settings to factory default because there is a good change it will resolve this problem.

Instructions on how to reset the video settings on your Xbox 360 Console

1) Remove any game disc currently inserted in your Xbox console.

2) Power off your Xbox console.

3) Grab your controller and power on your console by pressing down the 'Guide Button'.

4) Immediately when you see the console starting, press the 'Y' button and press the 'Right' trigger at the same time and don't let go.

5) The console will reset the current display settings back to factory default and will it restart.

How To Charge a MP3 Player On a Computer With a USB Port / Without Mains Charger

Posted on 08:23 by Unknown

Most mp3 players are designed to be charged via a usb port using a device such as a computer, as well as using the supplied DC adapter. The reason why charging a mp3 player via usb works is because it can provide sufficient charging voltage of 5 volts to the battery, the same amount of volts a DC adapter can provide. If you don't have a DC adapter to use to charge your mp3 player's battery up, you have an alternative method available, which is to connect your mp3 player to your computer through the usb port and charge it that way. There are two possible ways to connect your mp3 player to a computer's usb port, either by using an usb cable or removing the protective plastic cap from the mp3 player itself to reveal the usb plug. Not only can you charge it using a computer, but anything that has usb port will work, including games consoles such as the PlayStation 2 & 3 and Xbox 360.

1) Identify how your mp3 player can be connected to a usb port. Some particular mp3 players have a usb plug built into them and some require an external usb cable to make the connection. If you are not so sure about the type of connection it uses from just looking at it, i would suggest you read the user manual for further guidance.

2) Power off your mp3 player because you don't want the battery life draining while its charging, as that will slow down charging time. If you are using an external usb cable to make the connection to your computer, attach one end of the cable into the mp3 player and the other end, which is a usb plug into a spare usb port. If your mp3 player doesn't require a cable because it as an integrated usb plug, then remove the plastic protective cap and insert it into a spare usb port. On most computers, usb ports are found on the front panel or at the back of the PC tower.

3) Once you have connected your mp3 player to your computer, power on the computer to provide voltage down to the usb port. Now your mp3 player will be charging successfully and the charging indicator will be displayed on its screen. When it is fully charged, you can switch off your computer and disconnect it from the usb port to save electricity.

How To Connect MP3 Player To PC Computer Speakers For Sound

Posted on 02:19 by Unknown

PC Stereo speakers are connected into the green color jack found on the back of the computer to create sound produced from the sound card. It works by the sound card sending an input signal into the computer speakers. Then the amplifier inside the computer speakers will process the input signal sent from the sound card and will amplify it and will make it more powerful. Finally, the signal will then be sent to the computer speaker drivers, so they can play sound out loud. Computer speakers have a integrated amplifier powering the speakers, this is what makes them sound loud and powerful, which is why you have to plug them into a wall socket to obtain power. Not only can you use your computer speakers for use with your PC, you can also use them with any device that has a 3.5mm socket. This means you can hook up your computer speakers to your mobile phone, portable mp3 player, PSP Vita console or portable DVD player.

1) You will need to the find the 3.5mm socket on your mp3 player. It is the same socket that is used to connect headphones to your mp3 player. This socket will be used so the PC speakers can obtain an input signal from the mp3 player.

2) Once you have found the 3.5mm socket, get the 3.5mm green color jack/plug from the speakers and insert it into the 3.5mm socket found on your mp3 player.

3) Plug in your computer speakers into a wall socket and switch them on. Ensure that the volume level is set to the maximum level on the mp3 player and then adjust the volume level control on your computer speakers to your liking. If your mp3 player has an equalizer, adjust the different frequency sliders to increase or decrease bass and treble to slightly increase sound quality.

How To Fit a New BIOS/CMOS Motherboard Replacement Battery

Posted on 03:36 by Unknown

What is it & How does it work?

The motherboard contains a small sized circular shaped CMOS battery that is used for the computer to store the time and date settings, onto an on-board CMOS memory chip. If this battery becomes faulty or dead, every time you start your computer up, the time and date settings will be reset and you will have to correct them. This can cause frustration because you will have to go into the BIOS and manually set them each time you want to use your computer. If you don't correct them, the internet and existing installed programs will not work properly. The reason why this happens is because the CMOS memory chip doesn't get any power from the 3 Volt lithium CMOS battery to revitalize it, when the computer is powered off. This will cause the time and date settings on the CMOS memory chip to become none existent next time when you power on your computer. So you will need to replace the current dead CMOS battery installed onto the motherboard with a brand new one of the same type to overcome this problem.

Instructions on Replacing the Motherboard Battery

1) You will need to remove the 'Side Panel' from the computer's 'Case', so you can access the motherboard. You will find two or more 'Philips Head' screws on the 'Rear' of the computer case, which is holding the side panel in place. So using a 'Philips' head screwdriver, unscrew all screws that relate to the side panel.

2) Now that you have removed the screws, place your hands on the side panel and push it in the left direction. This method will unlock and release the side panel from the computer case. Once removed, place it against a wall, so it is out of the way.

3) Somewhere on the 'Motherboard' you will see the 'CMOS Battery', it looks like a coin and is a silver color. Different motherboard manufacturers place it in different locations, so there is no specific location to look at on the motherboard to find it straightaway. Once you have located it, you are now ready to proceed with the next step.

4) The 'CMOS Battery' is held inside a 'Battery Compartment' that has a metal clip that holds it in place, to securely hold it down and prevent it from falling out, when moving your PC tower. So using a 'Flat' head screwdriver, insert the 'Flat' end into the silver color 'Release Clip' found at the bottom or top of the battery to pry it out.

5) Once you have done that, you are now ready to install the new battery, so remove the packaging from the new 'CMOS Battery'. The correct way to insert the battery into the compartment found on the motherboard is to hold the battery with the writing side upwards and using your fingers to push it in. You will hear a 'Click' sound when installed properly, this means that the battery is locked in and is done correctly.

6) Replace the side panel you removed earlier on, along with its screws and using your screwdriver to tighten them all. All you need to do now is to switch on your computer and update the time and date settings in the BIOS. So the time and date configuration is correct and next time when you start your computer up, the settings will be remembered.
