How To Fix a PSP Thats Not Loading UMD Disc Games & Movies
Posted on 06:53 by Unknown
If your psp console is not reading umd games and movies, chances are the umd disc is dirty. Smudges and fingerprints can prevent the laser inside the umd drive to read data from the umd disc, therefore it will not load. Simply eject the umd disc from the psp console and using a lint free cloth, wipe clean the silver side of the umd disc clean. When cleaning the umd disc, make sure you don't apply any hard pressure onto the disc and remember don't clean in a circular motion, as this will cause scratches. Once you have cleaned it, reinsert it back into the psp console and see if the console this time loads the umd disc. If it loads that's good news, if it doesn't the laser lens is likely to be dirty.
The psp laser overtime can get dirty because of excess dust that has buildup on the lens of the laser. This can cause problems to occur that are umd disc related. To clean the laser lens yourself, you will need a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol. Once you have them, watch the video tutorial below:
If you have cleaned the laser lens, and still the psp console will not load the umd disc, chances are the laser is actually faulty. So order a genuine replacement laser for your psp console and replace it yourself.
