You probably know what a soldering iron is used for, but don't know what a soldering gun is used for?
Well, a soldering gun is just like a soldering iron because it has a hot tip that can reach at a high temperature that can melt solder wire. The shape is the main difference because the soldering gun is shaped differently in a gun shape, therefore making it hard to solder small electrical components on circuit boards using it, such as: resistors, transistors or capacitors. A soldering gun is known to be used for large electrical wires and heavy duty work. One benefit of using a soldering gun is the metal element heats up and cools down more quickly, if compared to a soldering iron, by activating and deactivating it, using the trigger. The second benefit of using a soldering gun is it allows you to control when you want to tip to become hot and cold, by pressing the trigger. The third benefit is that most of soldering guns come with a spot light, so you can see what you are soldering in dark situations, to reduce soldering mistakes.
