If you have connected your ps3 to your television and the sound from the speakers inside the TV are making a loud and annoying humming sound, then there is likely something wrong with the cable you are using to connect the ps3 to your TV.
Troubleshooting this problem:
1)Make sure that the the Av cable is connected firmly into the socket on the ps3 console and composite or scart sockets, depending on which connection type you are using. Loose connections are known no cause problems with the picture and sound. If you spot a loose connection, push in the plug into the socket.
2)Get a tissue and clean the connectors on both ends of the cable, cleaning the connectors that goes into the rear of the TV and the ps3. Static electricity can build up on connectors that have been exposed to electrical items that cause interference and dust, wiping them should get rid of it.
3)Check the cable for any damage, things to look out for are things such as split wires or loose ends. If you do spot them, replace the cable because that can cause interference with the audio.
4)If the cable is has silver plated connectors, that can enhance sound interference. So replace it with a gold plated cable because it provides a reduction of humming, from electrical items around your ps3 that cause interference with the TV's sound and it also provides better picture quality. The reason why is because gold is a better electrical conductor, if compared to silver and picks up less static.
