The Nokia n96 is just like the Nokia n95, although the audio sounds different. The audio sound quality of a Nokia n95 sounds plain and it has a lack of detail, but is it the same with the n96? When Nokia created the n96, they included a dedicated audio chip on the circuit board; this is to enhance music sound quality. The Nokia n96 has stereo speakers placed on each side of the phone, to enhance the stereo surround sound effect further.

I have the Nokia n96 myself as my portable multimedia computer and i wanted to test the audio sound quality of the stereo speakers inside the mobile phone. I played a music file that is properly encoded into mp3 at 320 kbps to make the sound test fair and the sound was loud, but there was not much sound quality like i heard on the Nokia x6 and 5800. The sound was loud without any question, but there was a lack of bass and mid range sounds. I tweaked with equalizer and still the sound was tinny and flat because there is distortion heard when the volume reaches above 80%. Overall, in my opinion the sound quality is not that good from the stereo speakers that are built in the phone and is not a music phone for a audiophile.

I also tested the sound quality produced when you connect a decent pair of earphones into the Nokia n96. The sound produced through the earphones is excellent and is not tinny at all! The detail and clarity of music is excellent when using earphones, but i can't give all the credit to the dedicated audio clip because i do have a expensive set of earphones that can enhance the sound quality on any music device. The Nokia n96 also includes a stereo widening feature, to enhance and make the stereo sound like the music is live. Overall, in my opinion the sound quality is much better using earphones and with the loudness feature turned off, rather than using the stereo speakers that are built in the mobile phone.

If you want a music mobile phone that is loud and has great sound quality, you will not get it from the Nokia n96. You can't really blame the Nokia n96 because it was not really designed for music demands. If you want a mobile phone for music with great sound quality, then i recommend you get the Nokia n91 or a Nokia 5800, Nokia 6233, Nokia x6.

I carry out repairs on many mobile phones, daily i get many Samsung Galaxys with faulty screens and the only way to fix them is to replace the screen. Dissembling the mobile phone to get access to the screen is not as easy as it sounds, so i have provided some instructions for your own good below:

1)You will need to remove the back plate, battery pack, sim card and if you have a memory installed into the device, remove that also.

2)Using a screwdriver, remove all the screws that are located on the rear of the mobile phone.

3)Remove the motherboard guard, the guard is place so it doesn't get damaged if you drop the mobile phone. To remove the motherboard guard with ease, use the prying tool that came with your replacement screen. If it didn't come with one, you can use a small flat screwdriver instead.

4)Disconnect the ribbon cable that connects to the screen, located near the memory card slot.

5)Using the prying tool or flat head screwdriver, pry out the screen from the housing. There will be loads of dried glue to hold the screen in place, so you would need to pry with effort to remove the screen.

6)Using your fingers, remove the bottom part of the screen and slowly pry out the screen from the housing.

7)Once the screen is removed, remove all the excess glue with a flat head screwdriver found on the housing.

8)Place the replacement screen on the housing with the cable going through and connect the cable found on the other side. Replace the battery and sim card and test if the replacement screen is working, if it is working, then continue the procedure.

9)Using glue, glue the replacement screen onto the housing.

If you have window tinting film on your car window and you want to remove the film without making a mess, the best method i have come across in the window tinting industry is to use a razor blade and soapy water. Before having the idea in mind to remove you car window tint film from the car window, identify if the tint is aftermarket, if it is not and the window tint came with the car from the factory, you can't actually remove it!

Instructions on remove a window tint:

1)Using your razor blade make a small cut in the corner of the window tinting film. You are going to make the cut so you can grab hold of the window tint, this is so you can pull it off with ease.

2)Carefully peel off the window tint from your car window. When removing it, do it slowly as doing it fast can tear the window tint and make a mess, therefore it makes it more harder for you to clean up the remaining mess left on the car window.

3)Simply pour some cheap washing up liquid into a bottle that has a spray accessory. Then spray the soapy liquid solution onto the car window.

4)Using your razor blade, scrape off the adhesive carefully and don't apply loads of pressure onto the car window when scraping off excess adhesive, as scraping to deep can cause the car window to get scratched.

5)The window tinting film from your car window at this point should be completely removed from the car window. To make things look tidy, spray a glass cleaner solution onto the car window and wipe it off using a cloth.

If you don't have a car polisher and the scratches on the disc are faint, you can use a lint free cloth and buff the disc manually. This method will take longer and can make your arms tired after a few minutes of ridiculously fast buffing.

4)Once the buffing process has been completed, insert the DVD disc into your DVD player and see if the disc works. If not, keep buffing until it does.
