If you own a PlayStation 2 console and you get picture, but no sound, then check the scart or RCA connections, which ever you are using to connect your ps2 to your television. To check the scart or RCA leads, make sure they have firmly plugged in. Sometimes they can become loose and cause problems with picture or sound. As well as checking the connection on the TV, check if the AV video cable is firmly connected into the rear of the ps2 console.
If the both TV and console connections are fine and you are using RCA leads to connect the ps2 to your telly, make sure that you are connecting the red colour RCA connector, into the red colour socket and the white colour RCA connector, into the white colour socket, on your TV. The red and white colored RCA sockets receive sound, the yellow colored RCA socket receives a video signal. I have seen some people just connected them into random RCA sockets on the TV, which is not the correct way to hook sound input to the TV.
If the connections are fine and are correct, then replace the AV video cable because it is most likely to be damaged.
