You no longer need a license to operate a CB radio, the CB radio license was no longer available after 8 December 2006, as Ofcom decided to let users use the CB radio for free. The reason why a license is no longer required to operate a CB radio is because most people in this world, use mobile phones, or email as communication today and most people no longer used a CB radio, which in result left no profit for them to make from people buying CB licenses.
