Wondering what happens to your car when you car's fuel tank runs out of petrol? Well once by mistake, my own car was running out of fuel because the petrol gauge was not accurate. The fuel gauge displayed that the fuel tank had petrol left inside it, but really the fuel gauge was not accurate and my car had no petrol at all left in the fuel tank!

Below are the things that can happen to your car when your car runs out of petrol:

1)Your car stops to a halt obviously because you car's engine needs fuel to create a combustion in order to get the engine to operate.

2)Having a empty fuel tank can make the fuel injectors get clogged up because when there is no petrol left in the fuel tank, the fuel injectors will suck up what is left at the bottom of the fuel tank, which is dirt. That dirt can also clog up the fuel filter as well and cause serious problems to the car's engine.
