Every car head unit that has additional pre outs that are used to hook your car amplifier to it, so it can send the amplifier a input signal, through the rca cables and then the amplifier can create a larger output from it. There are different pre out voltages on car head units, it varies from manufactures, some are 2 volts and some are 5 volts. However, the more voltage they are, the same amount of sound quality and loudness you are going to get from a amplifier. The main benefit of owning a car head unit with higher voltage pre out is that you don't have to turn the gain on the amplifier all the way up. This means that amplifier will work less, making it run cooler and also you will hear less static noises through your speakers because the lower the gain, the lower the noise input.
