If your Nokia n95 mobile phone has no backlight, to light up the LCD screen, then you can hardly see what is being displayed. This is because the backlight acts as a torch; it is placed behind the screen to brighten it up. If your Nokia n95 screen has no backlight, then the solutions to fix this problem are below:
)It could be a bug in the firmware version that your Nokia n95 is currently running, a bug that can disable the backlight to work. So i would recommend you to update, or reinstall the firmware on your Nokia n95, before replacing the any hardware. To update it, you will need to have Nokia Software Updater installed onto a computer, with a fast internet connection, a mini usb cable and a fully charged Nokia n95. Then connect the phone to the computer, via usb and run the updater software and follow the onscreen instructions.
)If updating or reinstalling the firmware didn't work, then have you recently dropped your n95? If you have dropped it, dissemble the phone and remove the screen, this is to see if it looks cracked or smashed. If it is cracked or smashed, you will need to replace the screen.
)If the screen looks fine, then make sure the ribbon that connects the LCD screen to the circuit board is secured. A loose ribbon cable that is not properly connected can cause no backlight.
)The ribbon cable that connects the bottom circuit board with the top circuit board can be worn out, due to age. Dissemble your phone, check the ribbon cable, does it look torn or worn? If so, it can cause this problem, so replace it.
