If you want to remove the catalytic converter from your cars exhaust system and you want a louder sounding exhaust, you might want to replace it with a straight pipe, to decat the exhaust. Or you might want to replace it with a brand new catalytic converter, if the current one that is fitted is damaged. In order to replace it, you will need to know how to do so, to help you remove it, i have provided instructions below:
)Drive your car to a location that has a flat, solid surface, then jack up the car and place it on jacks stands.
)Now you have do get underneath the car, look at the middle area of the exhaust system, you will spot the catalytic converter. It looks like a wide rectangle shape, you can't miss it!
)Look to see how the catalytic converter is attached. On most cars, altogether there are about 4 bolts, about two in the front and two in the rear, bolts that hold it in place. Once you have found the bolts that hold it on the exhaust system, find a socket that fits each of them.
)Then attach the socket to the ratchet and using it remove the four bolts. Once the bolts have been removed, then pull out the catalytic converter from the exhaust system.
