You should change your car battery, only when the car battery shows signs that it is dying out. Commons signs are, if you car doesn't start the first time, even though your car has good spark plugs or if your car electrical components dim and don't seem to work properly. But before you decide to replace the car battery because of them signs, you get the alternator checked out by a local garage because it could be faulty and could be the cause to this kind of problem. If the alternator is faulty, the car battery will not get charged up fully, preventing the car battery to work to its full power potential. On average, car batteries in most cars get replaced every 3-4 years, some might last longer because the owner has carried regular maintenance to it.
